Where is class? Mile Away Campground 479 Old West Hopkinton Road, Henniker NH
Who are the swim teachers? Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors that are employed by Swim NH LLC.
How many kids are in a class? No more than 5 students per group
Registration Deadline: June 13th, 2014, or once it is filled. This program will fill up quickly so sign up early. Space is limited.
Lesson fee: Mile Away Campground is graciously offering their facility free of cost and will also be paying for a portion of the swim lessons.  If you would like to make a donation to help with the additional cost of the lessons, checks should be made out to Henniker Youth Athletics and sent to Jaime Weston 115 Old Mill Pond Road Henniker, NH 03242.  Please note "swim donation" in the subject line.

Preschool Ages 3-5 9:30am to 10am
Level 1 and 2 Ages 5 and older beginners 10am to 10:30am
Level 3 and 4 Ages 5 and older working on swimming strokes 1030-1100
Level 5 and 6 Ages 8 and older refining swimming strokes 11am to 11:30am

Pre-school Level 2 and 3 Ages 3-5 years old

  • Enter water by stepping in
  • Exit water using ladder, steps or side
  • Bobbing
  • Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects
  • Front and back floats and glides
  • Recover from a front or back float or glide to a vertical position
  • Roll from front to back and back to front
  • Tread water using arm and leg actions
  • Finning arm action on back
  • Enter water by jumping in
  • Fully submerge and hold breath
  • Front, jellyfish and tuck floats
  • Back float and glide
  • Change direction of travel while swimming on front and back
  • Combined arm and leg actions on front and back

Levels 1 and 2 Beginners ages 5 and up

  • Blow bubbles through mouth and nose

  • Learn to look carefully before entering the water
