Referee Clinic - Thursday, 8/30/18, 6:00PM, Old Concord Road Field #5
Please dress for refereeing a game (see below attire) and bring your whistle. This will largely be a practical session.
Soccer referees are a large part of our program. It's a also a great way for young kids to gain valuable life lessons and build confidence and communication skills...while getting great exercise and making money!!! As you will see below, it is hard to beat the hourly rate!
Who is a candidate for an HYA referee?
Someone who can arrive at the field no later than 15 minutes prior to game time (20 minutes is preferred)
Someone who has a basic understanding of the game. Generally this is a current or former player.
Someone who has read the MVSL rules and can ask for an explanation of anything they don't understand.
We prefer referees to be at least 14 years of age, but can make exceptions. Younger referees wil be placed with more experienced referees. We have many adult referees, too!
USSF Grade 8 referees are welcome and appreciated, but this referee certification is not required by the MVSL.
Ideally, you should attend the referee clinic on Thursday, 8/30/18 at 6:00 PM, Old Concord Road, Field 5.
If you are interested in refereeing, please email your full name, date of birth, parent/guardian contact info (if applicable), phone, email and current mailing address (necessary for payment) to firstname.lastname@example.org.

2018 Fee Schedule
Payments to referees will be mailed to the referees at the conclusion of the season. In some cases a payment can be mailed mid-season as well.
Referees are expected to show up on-time for their assignments. If they don't show and don't make arrangements for a substitute, they risk losing some or all of their earnings. Two entire teams are counting on the referees to show up and if they don't...it's a big deal!
